Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism is a Special Interest Committee of the Lausanne Movement.

LCJE is the only global organization in existence today in which people involved in the field of
Jewish evangelism can come together and

· Share information and resources
· Study current trends
· Stimulate one another’s thinking on theological and missiological issues
· Strategize on a global level so that more Jewish people will hear and consider the Good News of Jesus
· Arrange consultation that will be useful to those engaged in Jewish evangelism

In the Jewish community, Moishe Rosen was regarded as a controversial figure.  He earned that reputation for his unwavering commitment to Jewish evangelism.

Moishe never accepted Jewish opposition to the Gospel as, what he called, “enemyship.”  He often said, “Choose your friends, and pick your enemies even more carefully.”  His Jewish opposition was far less gracious.  Some sought to deny him Jewish “status.” They scornfully said, “Did you know that their founder is just a Baptist minister?”

That was allegedly meant to imply that Baptist affiliation and Jewishness are mutually exclusive.  However, no one can deny the genuine Jewish pedigrees of stalwart Baptists like Hyman Appleman, Jacob Gartenhaus and Moishe Rosen.

The 9th LCJE Conference 2010 in Krakow cancelled
New dates: November 15-18/19, 2010, in Krakow

The European LCJE conference in Krakow, scheduled for April 19-22/23, had to be cancelled, like so many other arrangements in Europe, when the volcanic ash from Iceland caused airports all over the continent to shut down.

The decision was taken by European LCJE Coordinator Jean-Paul Rempp after consultation with International Coordinator Kai Kjær-Hansen and Secretary Bodil F. Skjøtt, and communicated to the participants two days before the planned opening of the conference.

New dates have now been fixed, namely November 15-18/19, 2010, also in Krakow and at the same hotels. The program will be roughly the same, although with a few alterations.

The financial situation following the cancellation of the conference is not quite clear at the moment. We need to know how many of those who had originally enrolled at the conference will participate in November. Therefore it is important that those who enrolled at the April conference confirm their enrolment at the November conference as soon as possible. Registration is also open for new participants. We will keep you up to date on developments on this homepage under Upcoming Conference.

Confirmation of registration, and specific questions, should be sent to Jean-Paul Remmp at jpnremppbn@wanadoo.fr

Interacting at the 27th North American LCJE meeting

Jim Sibley, LCJE Coordinator for North America writes :

“Consider Yeshua!”  This was our theme for the 27th annual meeting of the North American chapter of LCJE, March 1-3, in Atlanta, Georgia.  More than sixty people in attendance listened as Dr. David Allen brought Bible lessons from the Epistle to the Hebrews that were intellectually and spiritually stimulating, and each speaker followed suit in providing material that was interesting, challenging, and helpful.  We plan to post many of the papers on the LCJE website soon, so that those who were not able to attend may be enriched, as well.  Several of the presentations were by younger leaders, who give tremendous encouragement for the future of Jewish ministry and of the LCJE network that has blessed so many of us over the past thirty years.  We were reminded anew that when our focus is on Yeshua, our unity is greater, our priorities are re-ordered, and our passion for the lost is deepened.

LCJE is an international network. The membership is made up of individual people and organizations working with Jewish evangelism. Find out more about LCJE agency members here
