Annual Report 2005 for LCJE Europe
By Hartmut Renz, LCJE Coordinator for Europe Our main activity was the Eighth European LCJE Conference. It was held in a very nice conference and recreation centre of the Lutheran Church at Lake Balaton in Révfülöp/Hungary from March 10th - 13th, 2005. Our subject matter was “Jewish Evangelism in Eastern Europe – Past, Present and Future.” You can read the statement of this conference as well as a participant’s report in LCJE Bulletin Issue No. 80 from May 2005. From December 13th-15th, 2005, sixteen participants from Germany and two participants from Switzerland met in the middle of Germany at Neukirchen/Knüll for the 4th German LCJE Conference. We informed each other about the highlights, joys, and sorrows in our respective ministries. We discussed the different problems Jewish immigrants in Germany are facing, and how we can help them to deal with those. Another issue was how and where people can study and train for Jewish evangelism and for serving messianic groups and congregations. We have been informed that the Lausanne Occasional Paper No 60 “JEWISH EVANGELISM: A Call to the Church” has been translated into German. It is ready for printing and will be published widely in Germany and Switzerland mainly by Evangeliumsdienst für Israel (EDI) and Arbeitsgemeinschaft für das messianische Zeugnis an Israel (AmZI). The next German LCJE Conference is scheduled for December 12th-14th, 2006, at the same location.
