Annual Report for LCJE Japan

By  LCJE Area Coordinator Teiichiro Kuroda

The year 2002 was a very exciting and blessed year by the Lord Jesus Christ for our ministries in Japan. First we have to report that we moved to our new office in the center of Osaka city, which is located in a very convenient place for traffic access. People can come to the office and pray with each other at any time and we have different information and magazines on Jewish Evangelism available. The tenants of this building are a Christian church (including its office and sanctuary) and offices of several Christian companies. People know our building and it is very convenient for people to come to our new office.  As a matter of fact we have used part of a mission organization’s office in last several years, but we are  finally  able to have our own office. Praise the Lord.  This was a gift for us. On April 15th, 2002 we celebrated the opening of our office. We invited Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, the director of Ariel Ministries in the U.S.A., as a guest speaker. He is well known among Japanese believers and his message is loved by us very much. He gave us a wonderful message and congratulations. Our brothers and sisters joined the fellowship and praised the Lord.

Secondly we were able to financially support 12 different ministries for Jewish Evangelism, both in Israel and some other countries as LCJE Japan. Our office director Rev. Issac Ishiguro went to Israel in July 2002 and visited different ministries, offices and a Bible college. He gave our love offerings to each of them individually.  This was the first time we were able to do this and it was a privilege for us as LCJE Japan to donate our love offerings for these different ministries, though the amount of the offerings was not so high. This means that the Lord is giving our Japanese believers a burden to pray and support Jewish Evangelism more and more. We believe that the Lord is answering our prayers and he will glorify Himself through LCJE Japan. Therefore we praise our God for He has done a lot among us in Japan in the year 2002.

Thirdly we had special meetings with Ms. Susan Pearlman, she is the first secretary of “Jews for Jesus” in the U.S.A., from Sept. 12th to Sept. 19th, 2002, in Sapporo, Tokyo, Yokkaichi and Osaka. These meetings were so blessed and we Japanese believers were encouraged by her service. Fourthly our ministries through LCJE Japan are developing widely among believers. We were able to have monthly prayer meetings in both Tokyo and Osaka and prayed a lot for different prayer requests. We also issued a monthly news letter announcing and reporting different information from Israel and Jewish Evangelism from April 2002. So LCJE Japan is getting more active ministries than before. This is really God’s blessing.

This year, we do not plan to have a big event, but we will join the first Youth Conference of JEA (Japanese Evangelism Association) in August. We will have a LCJE booth and seminars during the conference and we will present our ministries to Japanese young people. We want to challenge them to have burdens for Jewish Evangelism. We ask you to remember this important ministry in your prayer. I will join the LCJE Helsinki 2003 conference this summer and I am already excited about the conference and seeing our LCJE friends from different parts of the world.
