Annual Report for LCJE Finland 2002
By Eero Junkkaala, LCJE Coordinator for Finland LCJE / Finland has organized during several years two events annually. In both of them the evangelism among the Jews has been presented. So happened also at 2002. On May 27th in Helsinki a day of prayer was organized when the activities of various organizations of the Jewish evangelism were presented and the intercession separately for each and every organization was conducted. On October 14th there was the annual main occasion, the seminar with the topic "Jesus for Israel" in Helsinki at Meilahti Church. As the main speaker Risto Santala spoke on the items "The Biblical Characteristics of the Messiah" and "The Aspect of the Eternity of the Faith in the Messiah". Santala spoke about the character of the Messiah in the Midrash literature. He pointed out, in which way for example in the Midrash of Ruth there are several common points with the texts of the New Testament on the Lord’s Supper and the history of the suffering of Jesus. He presented also his newest book "The Midrash of the Messiah, the Messiah and His Meal in Midrash Ruth, Chapters V, VII and VIII and its Roots and Reflections in Corresponding Jewish Literature" (see web site kolumbus.fi/risto.santala/mr/). There were approximately 100 attendants in the event. The arrangements for the international LCJE Conference of August 2003 have caused some activity during the year 2002. The General Secretary of the Finnish Theological Institute Eero Junkkaala acted as the chairman of the LCJE/Finland, and as the liaison person for the international relations the Mission Director of Patmos Foundation for World Missions, Mrs. Pirkko Saila.
